Born in Italy, Luciana Perin migrated to Australia with her parents at the age of six. As a cross-cultural artist Luciana is interested in exploring notions of physical and psychological barriers and boundaries encountered through human ‘translocation’; the internal and external effects of how dislocation can shape our perceptions.
Luciana is interested in the poetic qualities of objects and materials. In particular she explores the social and cultural associations of found objects. Much of the artwork emanates from a contemplation of the domestic sphere, where day-to-day items such as coffee percolators and paper filters and even sheets of pasta are transformed into sculptural objects.
Luciana holds a Master of Fine Art from RMIT University. She has exhibited both locally and internationally.
